Seismic performance analysis of overall structure of a resilient prestressed steel frame with intermediate column friction damper are analyzed, compared with the resilient performance of a resilient prestressed steel frame (RPSF) with beam web friction damper. The results show that an ICRPSF effectively controls the story drift, dissipates more energy through the intermediate column friction damper (ICFD) and curbs the plastic development of the component. This system has a small post-seismic residual story drift and its structure demonstrates excellent self-centering capability.
